Plashet Hockey Club was formed in East London back in the early 1980’s. The founder, Manmohan Singh Panesar, migrated from Kenya and decided to continue his passion for the game here in the UK. The local ground in east ham, Plashet park, soon became the venue for the beautiful game. The word slowly spread, and before long, many more players were attending the park, for their weekly hockey training. Traditionally a game played on grass, Plashet park was ideal, and training still goes on there until this day.
Plashet has enjoyed a number of achievements in the league; including promotion from division 4SE, division 3SE and division 2SE. Plashet also participated in the England Hockey national Vase competition, reaching the final and winning the competition.
Plashet has been participating in summer tournaments since inception, and have enjoyed summers, where they have participated in 8 national tournaments, and managed to reach 6 finals, winning 5.
The success of the club is now engineered by their youth development programme. The younger players have brought a new dimension to the club structure and the overall game in the league and tournaments.
